Naini Lake

Tiffin’s Top

Kainchi Dham
Kainchi Dham is a pilgrim centre located near the town of Bowali and is about 17km from Nainital. The temple was founded by Maharaj Neem Karoli Baba, a spiritual teacher, in the 1960s but didn’t get recognition until 1970s when Apple’s Ex-CEO Steve Jobs visited the place.
This place exudes positivity throughout its entire aura. The chants of Lord Hanuman and Lord Ram incites the visitors with spiritual fervour.
Apart from its spiritual sigificance, this centre is situated near the banks of Koshi river amidst the green rocky mountains making it a beautiful and tranquil setting to take joy in. The place got its name from word “kainchi” which means “scissor” as it is located amidst the two hills which cross and cut each other in the shape of scissor.
Pangot And Kilbury Bird Sanctuary
Pangot is a beautiful village located about 13 km away from Nainital. The village is well-known for its diversity in flora and fauna and offers tourists to get glimpse of various types of birds. With over 580 species of birds this place is definitely a heaven for birdwatching enthusiasts.
Some of the common birds that can be spotted here include Himalayan griffon, Lammergeier, blue-winged minla, spotted & slaty-backed forktail, and Koklass pheasant.

Nainital Zoo
Located on the Sher Ka Danda hill at the height of 6.900 ft above sea level, Nainital High Altitude Zoo is a home to various endangered speicies of Himalayan animals and birds.
Some of the species that can be seen here are Royal Bengal Tiger, Snow Leapord, Himalayan Black Bear, Tibetan Wolves, Kalij Pheasant, White Peafowl, Hill Patridge and many more.
